Ernest Bailey started building pool tables about 1960. He had been a carpenter and cabinet maker, and decided to rebuild an old pool table we had. When the table was taken apart, he decided the only usable parts were the cushion rubber and the slate. So he created a new design from the ground up. This included a simple, but whisper quiet ball return.

I worked with my father from the time I was eight. My brothers and I grew up with pool tables, building them during summer months, and helping deliver them when we were old enough. Ernest Bailey passed away in 1996, and I have decided to carry on with the business.

Ernest Bailey about 1970. You can see the table design has not really changed since that time.
